ISCG’s Network Operations Center was designed to exceed today’s rigorous security, power and redundancy considerations, and is regularly upgraded to meet tomorrow’s challenges. We also maintain a separate colocation facility, so customers who choose this hosting option enjoy even greater peace of mind, knowing their data will be safe in the event of a catastrophic disaster at our primary location.
Redundant Power
Power systems in the ISCG data center are designed to run uninterrupted even in the unlikely event of a total power outage. All servers are fed with conditioned UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) power that will run if utility power fails. In the event of an extended power outage, an on-site generator can run indefinitely. The generator is regularly tested to ensure functionality in an actual emergency. As a testament to the reliability of our power systems, sites hosted at ISCG experienced zero downtime during the August 2003 Mid-Atlantic/Northeast blackout, despite a four-hour loss of utility power.
Physical Security
The data center is a controlled area, physically isolated from everyone except ISCG Level 3 Technicians. Public access is strictly forbidden. Access to the network operations center and data center is protected by proximity card entry and round-the-clock third-party security systems. Closed-circuit cameras, alarms and a building-wide limited-access time-coded entry system are fully integrated to form a comprehensive security solution.
